Iowa Law student awarded Peggy Browning Fellowship

Justin Rempe from University of Iowa College of Law has been awarded a Peggy Browning Fund fellowship in workplace justice advocacy. This summer he will be working at United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) in Triangle, VA.

Kevin Washburn to conclude his term as College of Law dean

Kevin Washburn, who joined the University of Iowa College of Law as dean in 2018, has announced that he will step down from the position at the end of the year, effective on Dec. 31, 2024. During his tenure as dean, Washburn developed a vision for the College of Law as the “Writing Law School” and helped develop an ambitious new environmental law program known as the Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative.

Samantha Barbas, legal historian and award-winning author, to join Iowa Law School faculty
