This fall, Dean Washburn appointed five faculty members to named professorships and renewed one.
Professor John Allen was renewed as the Herschel G. Langdon Clinical Professor of Law, Amandeep “Andy” Grewal became the Orville L. and Ermina D. Dykstra Professor of Income Tax Law, Emily Hughes was appointed the Edward Howrey Professor of Law and, in deference to her long and distinguished service, was named Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, César Rosado Marzán became the Edward Carmody Professor of Law, Derek Muller was named the Ben V. Willie Professorship in Excellence, and Shannon Roesler became the Charlotte and Frederick Hubbell Professor of Environmental and Natural Resources Law.
“Endowed professorships advance the College of Law in transformative ways,” said Dean Washburn, “This kind of private support not only recognizes exceptional faculty, it helps us retain the best. By awarding these positions we are able to recognize our colleagues who have continuously excelled in their teaching, scholarship, and service, along with honoring the donors and their families who made these positions possible. It is an important moment for Iowa Law.”
