Currently Steven L. Nelson is an Assistant Professor of Leadership & Policy Studies at the University of Memphis. His work interrogates the intersection of education law, education policy, and race in urban educational settings. Furthermore, Dr. Nelson's work applies critical race frameworks in efforts to highlight the ways that education reform law and policy contribute to the consistent and persistent existence of educational racism (inequitable educational outcomes and opportunities). His current projects apply qualitative methodologies to empirical legal studies.
