Dr. Patricia Heberer Rice from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum will hold a roundtable conversation with UI health care students on eugenics policies and the medical profession in Nazi Germany.

The event is organized by the UI Center for Human Rights, Carver College of Medicine, and US Holocaust Memorial Museum with support from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and International Programs & the Stanley-UI Foundation Support Organization. The event was made possible through the generosity of The Leonard and Sophie Davis Fund; the William J. Lowenberg Memorial Endowment on America, the Holocaust, and the Jews; and Judith B. and Burton P. Resnick Fund for the Study of Antisemitism. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center’s mission is to ensure the long-term growth and vitality of Holocaust Studies. To do that, it is essential to provide opportunities for new generations of scholars. The vitality and the integrity of Holocaust Studies require openness, independence, and free inquiry so that new ideas are generated and tested through peer review and public debate. The opinions of the speaker do not represent and are not endorsed by the Museum or its Mandel Center.
